Join the team: Funding opportunities
I am always looking for strong doctoral students, post-doctoral researchers and placement students who are interested in topics such as sensory processing, perception, decision-making, attention, development, autism, dyslexia and other neurodevelopmental conditions. You can find out more here on my findaphd.com entry. There are a range of funding opportunities that we could apply for together - I've listed some possibilities below. Please get in touch if you would like to discuss research ideas and funding opportunities further.
Doctoral funding
See the University of Reading doctoral funding opportunities (in particular, the South East Network of Social Sciences [SeNSS] scheme, which also includes 1+3 funding if you don't have a Masters yet). There is also a Magdalen Vernon studentship which is a 4-year studentship and graduate teaching assistantship. For these schemes, you will normally need to submit an initial application in December for a September start the following year. The Baily Thomas Charity also has a PhD Fellowship scheme (deadline for applications in March).
Postdoctoral funding
There are schemes available for postdoctoral researchers including from the British Academy, the Experimental Psychology Society, the Leverhulme Trust, the Economic and Social Research Council, and the Wellcome Trust.
Placement / Internship funding
The Experimental Psychology Society currently offers an undergraduate research bursary (for a project immediately prior to final year of study) and a new graduate research bursary (for a project immediately following the final year of study). The Applied Vision Association offers a Bradshaw-Eagle Undergraduate Research Scholarship (although note this was suspended temporarily due to COVID).
